The MG F91 kit has brought up some questions for me in
regards to MG kit development/design. How much input do the lineart
designers have in the actual engineering of the kit? Do they just draw up
a design the way they like it and let the engineers fill out the details?
Or do they modify their lineart to accommodate the engineering concerns? The lineart for the F91 matches the kit, "new"
head and all. Did BEE-Craft design the lineart knowing they would have to
accommodate the face-changing gimmick? Katoki did lots of engineering drawings for the MG Zeta
Gundam 1.0 to detail the transformation process. That would lead me to
believe that he incorporated the functional engineering needs in to his lineart
designs. With some kits the actual kit seems to have deviated from the
lineart due to engineering considerations. What about kits that deviate significantly from the lineart? |
