Not really. There's a reason Bush's approval rating is so low, and why significant portions of his own party have broken ranks with him. Most of us really don't think we should be mucking about in other countries unless provoked (i.e., overwhelming support for war in Afghanistan, tepid support, and ultimately outright hostility toward, war in Iraq).

Quite. And there's a *huge* difference between building the most advanced and fearsome weapons (threat) and using them, especially when they're used for dumb reasons. I have no problem with the U.S. developing the M-1A2, F-22, the F-35, the super Nimitz carriers (isn't Europe coming out with new carriers, Eurofighters, Leopard IIs, etc., isn't Asia coming out with new jets and ships as well, China's going to the Moon for crying out loud?), I have a big problem with using them for no better reason than we can. Those advanced and fearsome weapons is what keeps other countries off my county's back. This idiot of a leader we have, however, is going a long way towards negating that advantage.
