January 22nd: The DNSO Comedy, Part II.

The people who organized this meeting (primarily the ITAA, the INTA, and the
ICC) have only recently begun to be involved in this process. Certain,
however, that they are the center of the Internet (if not of the universe),
they conclude that the process has only recently begun.

Those present at the meeting who have been involved for a while and have
learned that the only solution is compromise, and who were willing to sit
down quietly and negotiate in good faith, were ignored. Those who are
ignorant and arrogant and think that their interests can predominate if they
only insist loudly enough (like Niall O'Reilly, who hasn't participated
until now and hasn't been posting to the open lists; Michael Heltzer
(likewise); and Kent Crispin, who participates and negotiates but in bad
faith), were rewarded for their selfishness and obstructionism by being
seated on the dais, and videotaped.

Meanwhile, the same old burning questions - how to define the membership and
how to nominate and elect responsible and credible leaders - remain
unresolved and indeed were not even discussed.

More time and money has been squandered, now when we can ill afford it. More
frustration has been engendered. More creative energy has been turned back
on itself, so that the best people increasingly want no more of this.

Six proposals for a DNSO. More to come, no doubt. Their spokesmen charged
with negotiating a compromise in the light of day by posting daily progress
reports to these lists. But no reports are forthcoming. The few who care ask
themselves: No negotiations? Or simply no reports?

The DNSO.org waiting in vain for the others to come to them. Everyone
waiting, like in Samuel Becket's play. No one knows what's going on. Few any
longer really care. Lies and mystery. Deception, and self-deception.

The DNSO comedy, third and final act, will be presented at the Singapore
Playhouse. Reservations are advised.
