+ "Everybody's gotta be on somebody's bond." Are you saying you
+ don't trust anybody? (If so, I'm sorry for you.) ISPs would register
+ the same as anybody else, and their operation would be registered
+ as a repository of neighborhood addresses as well. Yes, there are
+ security issues, but between encryption and plain data analysis
+ (e.g. of systematic 'voting' patterns) I think they can be settled.
I disagree. ISP's are ultimately untrustworthy.
I won't lodge anything with any one of them in
any way related to voting or elections. It is,
in my opinion, absurd. They are businesses. They
are in conflict of interest.
Governments are untrustworthy in most places on
Earth simply because they are not democratic and
do not respect even basic rights or freedoms.
Similar to ISPs whose only real interest is the
bottum line. Only the bottum line of these gov'ts
is power not money. Same outcome.
I believe we can evolve our own Net based systems
to deal with elections in this regard. By that I
me and you and everyone else here working together
to find real solutions. Independant of commerce and
governments as we know them. All done in full public
view with all citizens able to participate.
