Just a quick note to observe that this would not be such a problem if NSI
were but one among many competing top-level domain name registries.

Companies such as Image Online Design, Iperdome and CORE are all
ready and waiting to compete fairly.

If the market were open, this would be a simple business decision on the
part of NSI. Instead, we have a closed market, to the harm of those
companies who have been waiting for over 3 years to compete.

As I said, just a quick observation.

Considering the amount of sleezy hype on the current webpage for
http://www.internic.net, I wonder if the USG is content to see the
following footer at the bottom of it:

"The InterNIC is a cooperative activity between the U.S. Government
and Network Solutions, Inc."

Frankly, as a U.S. citizen, I am ashamed that my government would
stoop so low as to authorize, certify, and cooperate with such a
crassly commercial website. Am I alone, or does anyone else besides
me wince at the sight of a national government apparently engaged in
commerce, and of this sort? What kind of image are we presenting to
the rest of the world?
