Thank you NSI for giving us such a stunningly stark example of monopolist
behavior.

I think it's plain as day now that NSI will not work with the "community" to
deal with domain registration problems.  The redirection of all traffic from
internic.net to networksolutions.com without the least warning is a spit in
the eye of everyone who has to work with them.

Despite the fact that I have been able to work with people from NSI (on the
Paris Draft, for instance), and to come to common ground on a number of
issues, this sort of behavior from a company in their position of power begs
for a solution, and at this point I think there is only one solution:
REGULATION, and lots of it.

I am sorry it has come to this.  NSI apparently just doesn't give a goddamn
what anyone else thinks, they made that obvious today.  Perhaps they are
indeed powerful enough to run roughshod over everyone, time will tell.  But
I think a lot of people's positions will be hardened on the day the InterNIC
died.
