What happened to telnet access to whois?  Gone.  It was quite important,
aside from being the simple service itself, because it gave more
information (on hold status, more records, etc.), and went down a
lot less than your normal whois servers.


Telnet shared the same port 43 interface internally.
How many other NICs provide a telnet interface?
 
 

Why doesn't ftp.internic.net have a ftp server available?


Try ftp to rs.internic.net

  The problem here with this FTP site Tony is that it is incerditably slow
to the point of being nearly usless...
