1. Separation of com/net/org registry from NSI
I thought it was a no-brainer that these databases had to be taken away from
NSI. Is this something ICANN might do in the future but is leaving in place
for now?
Has NSI successfully defended its claim to own these databases? Is that
issue over now or just deferred by the introduction of the SRS?
2. Operation of "A" root server
Is NSI still operating the root server under instructions (contract?) from
IANA? Has ICANN renewed that relationship? Is the documentation available
anywhere? Is that covered in the cooperative agreement?
Isn't it a bit odd that NSI is: (1) a registar, (2) the com/net/org
registry, and (3) the operator of the root server? Is that permanent?
