There is no doubt in my mind that NSI has built a working, dependable,
professionally run system.

The improvements over the last year or two have been significant.

Any somebody needs to award Tony Gomes a medal for keeping his temper
(and doing a fine job) in what must be one of the most stressful contexts
to be found on the net.

So, despite my tone, there is much to admire in NSI.  As a
business/marketing operation, it is top rate.

And I don't object to its being pushy with the government - that's the
perogotive of for-profit companies, to be pushy.  In fact, the
shareholders deserve it.

What irks me is the notion that NSI made an "investment" that justifies it
in obtaining permanent control of the root zone, the main commercial TLDs,
and the contact database.

The entraprenural part irks me because most folks on whom I'd hang that
label have put their own personal assets at risk, have had to make
the payroll, etc, without a safety net.
