But this does not address JeffM's concern, William, or at least not completely.
What JeffM is saying, and has said in his posts to Ben Edelman, is that
the Berkman center has taken it upon themselves to make this decision
without proper legal consent, by logging certain information about a
particular user. That is wrong, and likely not legal either... And for the
Berkman Center to be engaging in this sort of activity is both poor
judgment and egotistical...

In Texas you only register as a voter every 4 years. You are than at voting
time only required to provide proof of legal identification. And this is only
for VOTING purposes. The State, any state is not supposed to give out
the registered voters name to anyone, if requested not to do so by the
registered voter in question. If the state does, without proper legal
authority, such as a criminal summons, than they are acting in an
illegal fashion and can be held criminally liable...
