I would suggest that you review the ITAR regulation again Javier, you are mistaken here in the extreme. You could also review RFC1281 as well. ANd actually we are talking about Authentication which some of the restrictions do not apply. Given that ICANN is a California and therefore a US corporation, using France as a excuse for pursuing the direction in this area that the DNSO has and is pursuing, even using this as such an excuse, is a poor choice from a management decision standpoint... Some recent references to which I have provided earlier today. http://www.cnnfn.com/news/technology/newsbytes/136680.html and, http://www.cnnfn.com/news/technology/newsbytes/140340.html This one gets into the "Privacy" issues that are indeed legitimate, especially considering the recent and ongoing debates discussion in respect to ICANN are otherwise related. Thought this one does not mention ICANN... > > > >Those whom live in France, or under French law, should probably present > >their objections to their governmental officials and policy-makers, as > >should those who live in similarly repressive regimes. > > France a "repressive regime" ???? Oh the French are not on the whole "Repressive" but in regards to working with the EU on authentication and crypto issues they are indeed lagging. > > > Javier > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > Javier Rodriguez [EMAIL PROTECTED] > AXISNET VicePresident > Peruvian Association of Internet Users and ISPs > Other duties: ECOMLAC ISOC -PERU IPCE > ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Regards, -- Jeffrey A.
