Ed, Chuck and all,
Thank you Ed for providing the "Complete Quote" from Chuck.
Chuck, I find it interesting that you seem to find none of this particularly
relevant to the Registry/Retistrar agreement as a problem. But we have been
here before haven't we. As I do respect you as an individual, I must
say I was surprised at this quote. Is the the new NSI line? Or is this
something that was thrust upon NSI through its "Tentative Agreements"
with ICANN and the NTIA? I prefer to believe the latter is the FAQ
here. I may of course be very wrong. But given that we [INEGRoup]
have followed very closely these discussions and debates for several years
now, I think that I am most likely correct in my preference.
All of this of course is extralegal as some may be well aware of,
as the Accreditation Agreement determined or edicted in the
Singapore ICANN conference initially and was not a consensus
decision as required under the White Paper from the NTIA. This
will likely be legally challenged, as I am sure some here suspect.
This in turn could be detrimental to both NSI and any of its
Registrars. The E.Com and Races.com are glaring possible
cases, for example.
