This is obviously more of the wonderful stability that ICANN has
brought to the Internet. But perhaps ICANN can't really be blamed;
they are so busy scheming how to make the root and gTLD servers
subservient to them through nested restraining contracts that they
haven't time to bother whether the servers are functioning or not.

According to the White Paper, the NewCo was supposed to be a
"technical coordinator of the DNS". As it has turned out, it is
doing everything but.

Beckwith Burr is ultimately responsible for everything that happens
as a consequence of empowering the incompetent IBM stooges sitting
on the ICANN board. When she eventually takes the place reserved for
in IBM's executive hierarchy as compensation for her faithful
efforts on their behalf, she will be beyond the reach of punishment.

James Tierney, an investigator at the US Department of Justice,
which has authority over federal antitrust law (the Sherman Act),
told me, after I had submitted enough evidence and testimony
regarding ICANN's bastard birth and wrongdoings to indict Mother
Theresa, that there was nothing Justice could do so long as ICANN
abided by the White Paper. A sick joke, at best. All one can hope is
that it was Al Gore who told the USDOJ to lay off ICANN and not
JonesDay.
