Its that time again, comes every month. Currently lacking and seeking a presenter and topic for this months meeting, on November 16th.
A fun topic most anyone can present on and will be of relevance to pretty much anyone, might be something like, "Linux Multimedia Commands" and maybe some other useful commands. Commands like convert, ffmpeg, and sox. Might be some others, but with those three, can convert images, video, and audio to pretty much any other format, size, add effects, etc. Some things like convert, can replicate advanced functionality that is only possible manually in like the Gimp, or other graphics editing software. Lately I have been using the convert command to do in seconds what would take a few minutes in graphic software. Or automated entirely invoked via a script, or application. Lots of possibilities with these commands, and really something that could benefit anyone. Most anyone might have the need to rescale an image or video, or change format. Common to change audio formats, or adjust/normalize volume amongst recordings. Which Rob included a Bash script to do just that in his last presentation on Bash. Just an idea of a topic, but others are willing to make suggestions just the same. Hopefully someone will volunteer to present. If not I can see about putting a presentation on the above, or other topic of interest. -- William L.
