We have just now gotten around to trying to update CF7 and have
had some problems. These are the steps that took place and the problems we had.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix it? We are running Windows 2000 on the server. We have CF7
enterprise edition. Before we began the installation, we stopped the following
services: a. All of the ColdFusion OBDC services b. The WWW Publishing Services c. Window Management Instrumentation 1. We attempted to install the updater. The installation
process began, but the installer screens never initialized. 2. We determined that there was not enough space on the C:
drive. 3. We cleared up approximately 600mb of space. 4. The installer screens came up and we went through the
installation process. When prompted, we chose the "Server"
configuration instead of the "Multiserver" configuration. At the end
of the process, we got the message that the update had NOT been successful. We
read the installation log and it gave only one error. "Cannot find file:
______". We searched for the file and found it, but the path had one
additional directory. 5. After reading some materials off of Macromedia's
website, I decided to run the updater using the "Multiserver" mode.
In addition to the services mentioned above, I also stopped two Macromedia JRun
services. It looked for the JRun4 folder on the C: drive. It went through the
process and displayed the message that the update was successful. 6. I then ran the updater for ColdFusion Report Builder.
It was also successful. 7. I tested our ColdFusion applications and none of them
worked. 8. I restarted the server, tested the apps with the same
results. 9. Followed the instructions on Macromedia's website to
reverse what I had done. It required us to copy backup files into the main
folder to restore them. 10. I tested some of our sites (making sure that Flashforms
and FlashChat were working). It was all successful. 11. After I returned to my office, I received a call explaining
that the print report (cfdocument) feature on a site was not working. I get
the error: ice.storm.print.StormPageFormat.isPrintSelected()Z when I try to
open the page. 12. I tried to log into the cf administrator and it comes
up with a page not found error. Please, HELP! Thanks in advance, Dawn Green Software Engineer |
