All great points, and don't forget that Adobe is getting behind Flex big time, and CF is right in the mix, keeping pace with beta releases of the CF -> Flex connectivity updater and some fantastic code gen features that will make CF the preferred backend for Flex development. This can't be underestimated in my opinion.

I know that sales of CFMX7 blew away all previous versions. The attendance of CFUnited was up from 500ish last year to 850ish peeps last year. There was a new OO-specific CF conference this year. The cf-blogosphere is going so nuts with new technology that it is hard to even keep up. There are several frameworks (app frameworks and object frameworks) that are in active development. Adobe has made a number of comments/actions that sound like they are going to strongly stand behind ColdFusion. There are now at least 4 CFML processing engines out there. I personally feel that this is a pretty exciting time for ColdFusion developers. All the doom and gloom of the CF5 days seems like ancient history to me. ~d On 5/18/06, [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED] > wrote: > > > > > > Good question. I'd like to know too. Has anyone seen anything on the future of CF? I know it seems to be the age old question. Has anyone seen an increase in the interest in ColdFusion from the corporate world since Adobe purchased it? Or, is ColdFusion winding down and headed to the scrap heap? > > > > Thanks > > > > Tom > > > > ________________________________ > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Justin Cook > Sent: Thursday, May 18, 2006 2:42 PM > To: CFUG List; CFUG List > Subject: [DFW CFUG] ColdFusion Market Share > > > > > Anyone know the breakdown of market share for ColdFusion vs ASP, PHP, etc.??? > > __________________________________________________ > Do You Yahoo!? > Tired of spam?
