Matt W. has probably heard more than I have since he was there and has talked to Jared, I believe I heard Jared mention "next year" on the ColdFusion Weekly.  Here is the main page for it.

Dave,

Do you know if the OO conference is going to be a recurring event?

I know that sales of CFMX7 blew away all previous versions.  The attendance of CFUnited was up from 500ish last year to 850ish peeps last year.  There was a new OO-specific CF conference this year. The cf-blogosphere is going so nuts with new technology that it is hard to even keep up.  There are several frameworks (app frameworks and object frameworks) that are in active development.  Adobe has made a number of comments/actions that sound like they are going to strongly stand behind ColdFusion.  There are now at least 4 CFML processing engines out there.  I personally feel that this is a pretty exciting time for ColdFusion developers.  All the doom and gloom of the CF5 days seems like ancient history to me.

Good question.  I'd like to know too.  Has anyone seen anything on the future of CF?  I know it seems to be the age old question.  Has anyone seen an increase in the interest in ColdFusion from the corporate world since Adobe purchased it?  Or, is ColdFusion winding down and headed to the scrap heap?

Thanks

Tom
