Two things...
1) If you go into Window -> Preferences -> /CFEclipse/Editor, try setting the "Insight Delay" value to "9999" so at least it takes about 10 seconds for the tag insight to kick in. You can then press ctrl + Space to force it to kick in when you need it.
Also, something I have experienced with Eclipse in Ubuntu before is that Ubuntu by default install the GNU JVM (which despite what many people choose to believe) is far behind in performance and support for the Java language. This can often times cause problems because Eclipse believes it is on a fully supported JVM. So if you can, just double check that you only have the real sun JVM running Eclipse. I highly recommend the latest 1.5 updater release (don't remember the number).
2) You'll be the first person I've told, but about a week ago I joined the CFEclipse dev team and have been submitting patches, adding features, etc. Point being, if you don't mind giving me some more details on the problem you are having I just might be able to help. :-)
As for your improvements, i'll enter it as an enhancement request and see what can be done about having it happen
The main questions I have are:
- What are your system stats, Eclipse version, etc. (other than the Ubuntu part)?
- Could this match issue #337 in our bug database?
Thanks,
Mike.
P.S. Great to see someone else here working in Linux! Woooo! :-)

My Ubuntu installation of CFEclipse bogs down with tag insight calls in CFEclipse. Does anyone know if there is a way to disable it? It would be *very* cool if you could have it off and enable it with a hot key when you actually need it. I know that is asking for too much, but disabling it would make me happy for now if anyone knows how.
