Man I've been avoiding .Net but I knew some day I'd have to code it.
Writting 100 lines of code for "hello world" argh.

Thanks.
time to google... or if you know where some good examples are I'd appreciate it.

I hate to say this, however this is not an ideal function for ColdFusion.
The .NET platform has a DirectoryWatcher class that can notify a .NET
application that a multitude of events occurred within the "watched"
directory tree. I had an app. where I needed something similar and had
nothing but headaches with CF. Finally broke down and wrote a .NET mini-app
that did the same functions and it has worked flawlessly ever since. Also,
the directory watcher functionality of .NET is in real-time so you do not
have to so a scheduled event or what not to get it to run.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Best of luck,

Subject: [DFW CFUG] direcory watch - how amny files?

I have a directory watch working. it cycles/looks for new files every thirty
minutes.

I was hoping to drop a folder containing a lot of files. like 100, i take
info from the files and would add it to a db.

it will only add 50 files and then it doesn't add the rest. If I drop a new
file into the folder it will add the new file so it's still running.

an interesting twist is if I do this, after info is inserted into the DB and
then I move the files to another foleder only 11 files will be proccessed.

any ideas?
thanks, John
