Walt, please DO post a link to the tutorial you mention. I'd written my
first experiments just using HTTPservice to an XML file - it's the
simplest way to get a connection going so you can experiment with Flex
itself. My next step will be CF interaction. Looks like there's plenty
of extra steps involved end a quick tutorial would help put it in
perspective.

Kelly
PS - My compliments also to Mike for Tuesday's presentation!

the Adobe training from the source is decent, but doesn't really get
into using CFCs much. (the focus is more on web services, instead of
remote object usage)

I found a super quick tutorial online that shows simple CFC usage, as
well, that I can forward to you if you're interested.

I would be interested in it in May. Classes that I have
scheduled on Tuesdays will be over by then. Also, could anyone
recommend a good book to learn Flex?

I heard great things about the preso to and was really bummed I
had a last
minute crisis pull me away. We are at the same point in our
office trying to
make a business case for Flex in some of our admin-type
applications. As
for another presentation, I would love for that to happen as
well, but as it
stands we have presentations lined up through April. We could
certainly
look at doing it in May if there was common interest.
