I just talked with Skipper Pickle and sent a note to Matt Woodward. We need short-term, cut-to-the-quick, cleanup-to-elegance help with our CF app. Anybody interested in picking up a new client? You'll be the advisor-heavy tech to a two-person shop. You'll be evaluating code. You may write some code. You may come with me to California to advise the developers. You'll see what can be done to make it less herky-jerky, chunky-monkey, i.e. too many calls to the database at one time over the web. This is where we are heading: http://sbschool.graphtek.com/ (the CF app) We are migrating from WebSphere (since 2000); the active site: http://smallbusinessschool.org/webapp/sbs/sbs/index.jsp Background: The app supports a weekly television show on PBS stations. History: The site went up in 1994 with an episode about the web. It was a flat file until 2000. WebSphere site 2000-to-2007. It currently supports over 600 short-burst streaming videos. There are another 1400 to go in the first round. You will have direct access to all our own servers. The digital playground for the video is at Brightcove as well: http://www.brightcove.com/channel.jsp?channel=44143111 Thanks. -Bruce Bruce Camber, Small Business School, Inc.
