I should have mentioned that there is some .NET-only functionality with
BD7 that is pretty cool too. If you start hunting, check out the
functionality of the CachedUntilChanged attribute of cfquery. Pretty
cool!

I made a blog entry about Josh Adams' presentation to this CFUG recently
if you care to check it out:

Kevin, there are some feature differences such as the ability to do
threading with cfthread on BD7, the lack of ability of native Flex
connectivity and report generation that is available with ColdFusion,
and few other less significant differences. Another thing to keep in
mind is that while the .NET version of BD is the most hyped, their JX
version offers the same platform independence that ColdFusion does
running as a J2EE application. You will find quite a number of blog
entries out there that state the differences and offer opinions if you
search a bit.

In a related note, this morning we worked out an arrangement with New
Atlanta and will be converting InstantSpot to the JX version of Blue
Dragon. I am sure we will be blogging about about our experiences very
soon!

Is utilizing the .net framework really that much better?

I'm sure there are a variety of opinions out there...just wanted
to pick some brains.
