I can personally say that the only
time I ever use createObject() is when I'm actually creating a non-CF
object...while I agree its a big function to be missing, I don't find
it that limiting to be honest. I simply use cfinvoke to call the init() functions in my CFCs which return me the new instance. No createObject() necessary. Also, considering hosting services that disallow createObject() completely (like GoDaddy.com) are doing pretty well, I imagine they will survive until they can implement it. Mike.
