I guess it is just a style difference more than anything.   Could I get
around it?  Sure... Do I want to?  No...  :)
It does seem odd to me that they don't have it though.  It appears that they
already solved the problem at the Java level by making the <cfobject/> tag
work.

I simply use cfinvoke to call the init() functions in my CFCs which return
me the new instance. No createObject() necessary. Also, considering hosting
