Kevin, just saw this post and will admit I didn't read it all. Do you have a virtual directory set up to read to your CFIDE folder

Yes. That is exactly it. When you use cfforms validations functions it puts all of the <script>,etc. at the top of the page before the DOCTYPE declaration. Ideally, I would like to just link to a js file. If this is not possible I will just continue manually coding my js. Sure seems like a waste of a good CF feature if it doesn't validate.

I think Kevin is referring to cfform's stuff with onSubmit methods.
Since cfform includes onSubmit javascript at runtime.

I vaguely remember encountering this too, but don't recall what I did to
overcome the problem (or if I even did :))

How can I adjust the cfform javascript controls?  I haven’t used it in
a very long time because pages don’t validate with the javascript code
at the top of the page.  There must be a way around this???
