If you go into IIS and set a Virtual directory back to your CFIDE folder as
read only you will not have to do anything else.

Yes. That is exactly it. When you use cfforms validations functions it
puts all of the <script>,etc. at the top of the page before the DOCTYPE
declaration. Ideally, I would like to just link to a js file. If this
is
not possible I will just continue manually coding my js. Sure seems like
a waste of a good CF feature if it doesn't validate.

I think Kevin is referring to cfform's stuff with onSubmit methods.
Since cfform includes onSubmit javascript at runtime.
I vaguely remember encountering this too, but don't recall what I did to
overcome the problem (or if I even did :))
