i'd like to recommend against it, on the principles that (1) it goes against expected behavior, and (2) it forces the user to shift his or her eyes to focus on the element. It feels a little bit like you're playing a trick on me. Remember that old joke program that plays an alert message with an Okay button, but every time you try to click the Okay button, it jumps away? A bit like that.
