Tom, congrats on the new position!
I've got an idea or two for topics and possible presentations. I've recently
started using ColdFusion 8 Report Builder, and really like it (in fact, I'm
about to start using it *right now*). It's my first experience with banded
report templates (ala Crystal Reports), so there's probably someone in the
group that would be a better pick for doing a small intro on this tool, but
if none were to arise, I'd give it a shot.
I'd also like to see the following topics:
* Eclipse over view including:
- handling multiple workspaces
- incorporating ftp
- incorproating subversion
* Subversion
- what is it
- best practices
- differences in version control with a compiled language vs. a scripted
language
- anything else on subversion/version control that I don't know enough to
even ask ;o)
* Debugging Ajax
* AjaxCFC (I might could speak on this one too, unless someone else more
experienced would like to do it instead)
* Alternate CFML parsers (i.e. the Smith project, Railo, etc. probably not
BlueDragon, I think we're all pretty familiar with that one)
- it would be nice to show an actual live install of the engine, and then
an overview of differences and gotchas that a CF programmer would need to
know about.
Okay... that's enough for now. I've got to get my nose to the grind stone.
Congrats again Tom! :o)
