I think we have a similar problem on 1.2.3-Release, but in the other
direction. We use postfix as our outgoing mail relay and sometimes mail
hangs while transmitting the body part of the message. In postfix we get
a lot of those:
(conversation with mail.someprovider.com[1.2.3.4] timed out while
sending message body)
But also some:
(lost connection with mail.someprovider.net[10.0.0.221] while sending
end of data -- message may be sent more than once)
In our case a reboot of the postfix machine will send out all the mail.
Does that also help in your case?
As I was unable to find a permanent solution, we reboot out postfix
machine periodically as that sends out all mail.
