With our CARP clusters it simply stopped working last week...
No clue why, but the only thing that helped was a reboot.

We did not switch tun / tap...

Perhaps we should keep an eye on this...

I forgot to mention that earlier - if you *ever* switch between tun and tap, it 
requires a reboot in between. Not unexpected there. I didn't think of it since 
you said you had dev tap in the advanced options.

We have seen issues with CARP just going dead on systems as well. We auto 
restart our routers about every four weeks and the issue does not appear to 
occur.  The issue was real bad with 2.0 and has not occurred for us with 2.0.1 
but we have not taken any chances. It sucks if it happens during a peak time. 
CARP is not as stable as it needs to be in the 2.x release.
