It depends on your switch.

I don't recall what the person had, but I walked through setting someone
up with lagg while managing through an interface connected into the lagg
group and somehow it stayed up the whole time.

Not sure I'd rely on that though.

lagg+vlans work fine, several customers use them in production.

If we can get http://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/336 implemented, then
needing a management interface would be a non-issue.
