I had the same problem (stuck at 38%) on a Core i5 processor machine
with the 32bit installer 2.0.1
The 64 bit installer worked perfectly.

Onboard IDE Operate Mode [Compatible Mode]
Combined Mode Option [Primary P-ATA+S-ATA]
this is my configuration , and i did not find any "legacy mode"
can you please give me more detail about how to change the sata mode ?
