That OID tells you what choices you have available.  so in your case,
ACPI-Fast isnt available.   in this case it looks like TSC is the most
prefered, and HPET isnt even on the list.  so the issue I mentioned is
likely not what's affecting you :(

but to change it to TSC for example, if it isnt already, you'd just run:

sysctl kern.timecounter.hardware=TSC

and it would be assigned until reboot.   but again, I'm guessing it's
already TSC.
