Not sure.  I'm on the same build.  I wouldn't lean to a mis-configuration in 
your case.  It's pretty straight forward what you are trying to accomplish and 
where you would configure in pfsense.  Maybe someone else will chime in.

Hi Michael

There is a field "Domain Name" on the Service->DHCP Server Page, but 
this doesn't take effect on DHCP Client ID Registration. I'm on 2.1 Beta 
and that might be Bug, but I tend to always first suspect a 
misconfiguration...
