just used google to search my "problem" but only found an older thread -
which basically confirmed my idea of upgrading/migrating.
I want to upgrade/migrate away from an embedded install of pfsense
2.1beta1 to a full blown install with a hard disk.
I run pfsense on an Alix board.
Can you confirm that this is the best way of doing it? Do you have
suggestions/additions?
1. Install the full ISO in a virtual machine with the same specs as the
Alix.
2. Export/import the configuration from the embedded machine to the new
virtual machine.
3. Thoroughly test the full installation.
4. Move the installation by using a disk cloning application (able to
handle BSD partitions) to the actual physical harddisk.
5. Swap the flash drive with the hard disk.
6. Reboot
