Hi Ruediger,
it is much easier:
1. Backup running config from embedded install.
2. Install the full install onto the new hardware
3. connect to the new install to standard 192.168.x.y IP
4. restore backup, you will be asked for the new NIC mappings
5. reboot
6. check, maybe adjust the settings, reboot
6. go live

no need to have a virtual machine and a disk cloning solution.
