It is not. These firewalls are generally atom based devices with a jetway nf99fl-525 and nominal ram. I have success with Yealink T32G and T38G, these are running 32(8).70.0.130. Can't recommend them though, they seem to not be getting any attention from Yealink any more. I've been eyeing the 23G and 29G as replacements. I've had success with the T46G also. Those are running 28.73.0.50, but I think that's kind of old. Most of these installations are dual wan with a 1.5M T1 and a coax broadband connection in the 50mb down and 10mb up range. Utilization is not particularly high, but I do use pfSense's fine traffic shaping wherever I can. Most installations also employ vlans on the internal network with QoS configured properly in the internal network. The asterisk machines tend to be nothing extravagant either, perhaps the same jetway driving those, but not always. I wouldn't rule out the issues being on the asterisk host unless you've done some investigation there and determined it's not the problem. I've used and appreciated voipmonitor to help pinpoint call issues like this. It's really a wonderful tool. Feel free to reach out off-list if anyone thinks this is getting too off topic.
