Recent threads here in this list: "Debugging a bi-directional speed discrepancy 
through an OpenVPN tunnel" and "IPsec - how to assess encryption is active?" 
have all the details.  In short: yes, 1.5 Gbps links, OpenVPN 350 Mbps in one 
direction (I could have lived with that) and about 15 Mbps in the other (I 
couldn't trace why).  With IPsec I got results in the range 500 to 750 Mbps in 
both directions, and it's clear that with more specific hardware, higher rates 
might be attained.

Now if only I could get my IPv6 traffic take the train along with the IPv4 
packets, it'd be perfect. :)
