Fellows and Fellow Travelers: Next week -- seminar July 18, outings on July 18 and 19. For the seminar -- please finish Ari Sitas, VOICES THAT REASON. I will try to send out questions for discussion by M or T. Seminar is usual time and place -- W 10am-noon, 4th floor Old Main. On W night, July 18, we will attend the staged reading of Carlyle Brown's "Are You Now, or Have You Ever Been...?", a newly written play (still in process) about Langston Hughes' struggles as he prepared to respond to a subpoena to testify before Joe McCarthy's communist-hunting hearings in 1954. Then, on Th night, July 19, at 10pm (yes, us old folks will have to nap in the afternoon, but it will be worth it!), we will go to Bedlam Theater to see a number of puppet plays by the brilliant, political, New York City-based Great Small Works company. Trust me! I have a LIMITED number of tickets for each of these two shows. If you want to attend, you MUST hit me back by noon Monday. Looking ahead, please hold Thursday, July 26, 5pm on, for a tour of the Picasso exhibit at the Walker Art Center. Freda has arranged for us to get a guided tour. I will be providing readings for you, too. Love and Solidarity, Peter
