1. How is the 3rd world concept of “international nationalism” related to Macalester’s concept of “global citizenship”? 2. In the “post-colonial” present, there has been a new development in the creation of the 2nd world (the third world lifted up by the bootstraps and post-soviet reform). Where does this new “world” fit into dichotomist theories based on the “juxtaposed but not harmonized” 1st and 3rd world spaces? 3. How do we (as students of color or marginalized peoples or not) fit into the imperialist framework? Do we have an obligation of self-sacrifice to take accountability for the benefits we reap at the cost of others?
