SUCCESS! When the REBOL beta is maximised on Windows 95, then exited by
clicking the close box on the top right, then started again, then REBOL
fails with the Invalid Page Fault.
Can some one please try this and confirm it? BUT WATCH OUT! To fix the
problem (temporarily) you have to load/unzip the current (not beta!)
version of REBOL, and run that. Then load/unzip the beta copy, and
it'll return to a inbetween (not maximised, not minimised) screen size.
PS I've found a better way, keep reading
Does anyone know where REBOL stores screen sizes? I'll use Registry
Editor and hunt it down. And I find it here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Rebol
Console
Not sure what the keys do, so I won't play with them, just yet. Wait
over, must, must alter!
I altered:
Window Show
from:
03 00
to:
02 00
guessing this has to do with Window show state. I ran REBOL beta and
it turned up minimised! I then clicked it open and it seems to run OK.
Refreshing RegEdit, and it reveals the Window Show is now:
01 00
Must be code for inbetween size. I now maximize REBOL and close it,
refresh Reg Edit, and reopen REBOL, REBOL beta fails with Invalid Page
Fault. Alter Window Show to:
01 00
and rerun REBOL beta and it goes!
Conclusion: When REBOL beta Windows 95 is closed when maximised, REBOL
beta subsequently fails with Invalid Page Fault when opened. I'll leave
it for the REBOL crew to fix.
