Personally, I liked your original suggestion of an appendix along the
lines of "REBOL for any-programmer". I think the REBOL docs do a nice
job of defining REBOL on its own terms, which is appropriate. But,
REBOL is new wine, and it is very easy for the old-hand to overlay
(incorrectly) terms and concepts learned elsewhere. Of course, once the
first book is published, we might look forward to "REBOL Secrets" and
the "REBOL Bible" to explain the mysteries of 'BIND, et al. (Ohh, the
woes of the early adopter.)
Also, in the orignal Essay, there was mention of using the
model/diagram to compare REBOL and other languages on a common ground.
If that is still a goal, I would suggest that another language be
brought into the model/diagram sooner than later, to be sure it is a
common ground, and not slanted to the first in.
