Did you check at the top of the viewport? Above the larger image? You
should see buttons to help you navigate through the gallery. The first one should get focus so keyboard users can tab twice and get to the button to reveal the next slide. If you don't see these, then I have a problem ;)

Of course I see those, but in the name off "accessibility for call-up
visitors :-) " I'd rather not go through all to get to the few I want to
see full size. I *want* an option other than to go back and forth.

In any case, to have it working "as you'd like" is only a matter of not styling the "background" and let users access the thumbnails. But then depending on user settings, the larger image could overlap the thumbnails and make them inaccessible, that's why I implemented the 3
buttons at the top.

You mean that enlarged image part _has to_ stay centered? That's not
logical. I'd like to push things around to suit my layouts (regardless
of how bad they are ;-) ).
