Thanks Susan, Good eye! You did indeed find its number one failing: The unseen mystery links with CSS on while images are off. I don't really know how to address this and am open to suggestions. Goodness knows I've tried to come up with a solution (aside from offering an accessible alternative -- trying to save that if nothing else can be found).
Regarding filling those alt attributes in the embedded image I didn't find they added any value since the text that would be in those would be redundant... it's in the accompanying text. I'd put it in in a heartbeat if it solved that other issue, but unfortunately while CSS is on, the alt text and embedded images reside outside the viewing port so it doesn't really help. Great job finding that. It shows you put it through its paces for which I am very grateful. I can only fill in the gaps I become aware of. Mike ----- Original Message ----- From: "Susan R. It's valid code and meets accessibility requirements (WAI) (with a caveat) and displays well with css off That said, it cheats with the main image in the background so there are no alt tags on it so it's not really totally accessible. I did see that the small images had alt text field, left empty...
