Yes, Safari (WebKit) was the first browser to pass the test. There are
claims that Opera was the second because of scrollbar issues in
KHTML/Konqueror. Opera (presto) was at least the second none related
browser/rendering engine to pass the test as KHTML and WebKit share a lot
of the same code base. Who finished where is irrelevant however as the
important thing is we are getting more and more browsers that pass ACID 2,
and that are beginning to support the same standards and render the same
way without hacks. The closer we all render pages the easier all our jobs
will be. As all our products use the same rendering engine, Opera Mobile
now also passes ACID 2, which I believe is a first, and shows what can be
done on the mobiles now. I'm looking forward to the next generation of
sites that take mobiles into account using web standards (handheld
stylesheets and media queries) and what unique new services spring up to
take advantage of it.
IE will take a while to catch up with ACID 2 (and web standards support in
general) but their developers are taking the point of view that they need
to fix the bugs and implement the standards that most effect web
developers, and I think that approach is the right one, as long as they
continue the work after IE7 and keep improving with the rest of us.

Acid2 is a test page, written to help browser vendors ensure proper
support for Web and related standards in their products.

Opera is the only browser so far to pass this test ,
