Check out the user agent string. (Open the about box and you'll see it)

The key is v:1.9a1 which points to Gecko 1.9, the current trunk builds
Fx 1.0.x is based on Gecko 1.7
Fx 1.5.0.x is based on Gecko 1.8
Fx 2.0 will be based on Gecko 1.8.1
Fx 3.0 will be based on Gecko 1.9
