How many people on this thread are actually using IE7?

IE7 is a program and if you uninstall it, ie6 will come back. You can't run
both simultaneously. If you run the standalone versions you are going to
have problems. It's not a clean solution. Microsoft has recently made their
virtual PC software free, that is the best way to run multiple browsers.
Sure, it's going to require more disk space and a legitimate version of
windows, but it will also save you a lot of wasted hours when your registry
gets corrupted by the repetitive install/uninstall/standalone hack process.
I know, I've felt the pain.

IE7 is coming out, it is much, much better than IE6, they have tried to
solve as many of the bugs as possible, it's not as good as firefox, opera or
safari, but it is a huge step forward.

If you are not testing with this browser yet, you need to get on the ball
and at least make sure you don't have any major issues. Also be aware of the
new activex behavior and be prepared to answer questions from your clients
about it.

I've been working with IE7 for many months and am even proud to know that I
found a major bug (or two) that they have fixed for the final release. I'm
not a champion, but I am looking forward to the quick adoption.

For those wondering why you may want to revert: They've had to make it as
backwards compatible as possible. However, there will be those odd
applications that may not work. Also, I personally don't like the way the
buttons are set up. I think some people will get frustrated by that alone.

Funny. Isn't the whole point of a software upgrade to make it better and
more usable than the previous? If Microsoft is worried about users "not
liking" IE7 then they should probably reconsider its launch date -
seriously.

Just a thought :)
