Using your location bar trickery (javascript:alert(document.compatMode);) I get 
'BackCompat' on both IE and FF.
I'm working with the Google Mini for our domain. I've cleaned up the output 
code a lot, but it's still far from perfect. I'm guessing that some invalid 
code is causing the browsers to switch back to quirks rendering...

Sorry no url, as it isn't complete yet and the first thing I'd hear would be 
"validate your code!" :)
