I'm looking for an alternative to courier. I have a mail server that uses ldap for local authentication. Nothing existing in /etc/passwd. Vmailmgr's checkvpw seems to work cause pop works and with courier, virtual pop accounts works but local real user acounts do not seems to work.
Courier has too many moving parts for me. It seems overly complex but has worked fine up until I switched to using ldap for pretty much everything. I'm hoping bincimap can help me here although I haven't been able to get even virtual pops working as of yet. I've searched the mail list and I see people are having this working, but probably no one using ldap for full time account administration. Any suggestions? I really need to get this working. Courier will work fine for now as long as it keeps virtual pops working but no real user accounts can check mail at the moment. Thanks! -jeremy
