OSD is about 40 – 60 minuted depending on the number of appliactions that are
installed.
Build takes everything from 2 hours to 5 hours depending on the number of
core-applications that are installed ☺

Maybe I should of read your question better, OSD is 40 minutes, creating a
build image is a few hours! ☺

Speeding up the OSD has been discussed quite a lot recently:

I have not tried this yet.
